Although I expected it to hurt as soon as it happened, I didn't expect this.
There is blood pooling under the nail. Blood clotting on the corners of the nail. The toe is inflamed and pussy, and whenever I walk, I remove my sock to find the bandages and sock are covered in blood.
I am very scared. This happened about a week ago, and I personally don't think it should be this bad. Should I go to a doctor or see my podiatrist again?
I had a surgery for an ingrown toenail.?
it is definitely infected. try soaking your foot in some plain warm water, put some Neosporin or Triple antibiotic on it and wrap it up in gauze to keep it clean. take some Motrin for the pain and find another dr asap!I had a surgery for an ingrown toenail.?
If he wouldn't give you pain killers or medicine to fight infections..Are you sure he was a real doctor? He should have his license taken away from him if he didn't.
If you get an infection SUE
Even if you don't I still say sue..You could have gotten a life threatening infection because of this ';doctor';
Seriously no painkillers or medicine to fight infections? What kind of doctor is this guy.
Definately, I would say go and see a doctor. It might become a infection, so you need the doctor to give u some strong medications to stop the bleeding.

I Have A Really Really Bad Ingrown Toenail And Its Getting Me Down.?
I Have A Really Bad Ingrown Toenail.I Have Had Some Of It Removed Twice And It Has Grown Back Painful Again.I Have To Go Back Soon To Get The Whole Nail Off.I Have To Stay Awake And I Have A Really Weak Stomach.I Dont Think I Could Handle See A Nail Being Taking Off. Can Anybody Tell Me If Its Painful To Get The Nail Off And If Its Feels Better One It Has Been Removed. Thanks Again. XxXI Have A Really Really Bad Ingrown Toenail And Its Getting Me Down.?
My son had this done on both big toes. They give you enough '; laughing gas'; so you don't even know what is going on and it does not hurt. It feels so much better once it is gone. You don't have to look when they take it off, they cover it up for you and you can have a sheet block your view like in a c-section. Don't worry, it will be fine and you will be glad you had it done.I Have A Really Really Bad Ingrown Toenail And Its Getting Me Down.?
I would NOT have the nail removed. If you can, place a bit of cotton under where the nail is ingrown. Let the nail grow but, increase the size of the cotton pieces. Eventually, the nail will grow out and be normal. Also, wear a wider shoe.
go to the doctor
wtf i never heard of an ingrown toenail.. ewww. but im sure itd feel better if its removed, not too sure on how its gonna feel when you get the nail taken off. probably hurts though x-x
I know a way to cure it! No doctor needed! OK, this may sound gross but if you treat it this way it will be better in no time, and you'll NEVER ever have an ingrown toenail again!
1st- you have to pee in a small container
2nd- (some people boil the urine, but I don't) get a q-tip or a cotton ball in your urine and put it on your ingrown toenail part. (this would relieve the swolleness and redness
3rd- get the tobacco from the butt of a cigarettes and put it on your toe.
4th- roll some gauze around your toe.
Hope I helped.
try to do this three times a day or at least twice a day. It really really works. I've been doing it for to days now and it's gotten so much better.
And the best part is, you'll never get an ingrown toenail ever again!
I went to a podiatrist a year or so ago. She freeze sprayed, then numbed the heck out of the toe and cut down the side of it with surgical scissors in the office. She padded it and I wore leather shoes to work the next day. I soaked it each day and kept antibiotic drops on it while taking a short course or oral antibiotics and I was good to go in a couple of weeks. It was nothing like I thought it would be. I didn't even limp in my shoes. Ask around for anyone who had had any type of foot surgery and go to a good doc. I put it off forever and now I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
They will make it to were you wont even fell it dont worry it will be fine .saints row 2 comes out 8/26/08
if you have your toenail taken off, usually it cures the problem. in some cases (like mine) i had only the ingrowing part removed, they kill the nailbed on the piece taken out so it never grows back. something i recommend you look into. dont worry to much about it, you wont see or feel anything.
good luck sweetheart.
Oh me too, and yes I've had them (my two big ones) cut out twice, my doc used a local and I swear that hurts more than anything else. the second time i took my book to read as I felt too focused on what he was doing the first time(didn't watch but you can still sort of feel tugging sensations, very unpleasant) and I took thongs/sandals that were easy to put on afterwards, my next and only hope is to have them removed altogether and he'll be using a local again. Also I'll be taking a jumper because last time I was cold and shivering when he was finished (mild shock I guess)
Good luck love, be brave
ps if you're not a reader maybe an ipod or something to focus on

I have a blood blister under my toenail?
Someone stepped on me with their cleats while playing soccer and on my toe(next to my big one) has a blister under it.
I had this happen to my big toenail and I went to the doctor and they took a laser and made a hole in it, but a few days later my toenail fell off.
I have a 3 day weekend so now is the time to do something, I dont want it to fall off right before my game next week. Should I leave it and risk it falling off later or take a hot needle and go through my toenail to relieve the pressure and maybe have it come off now so it has time to recover before next week?I have a blood blister under my toenail?
You wrap a pc of tape on the dull end of needle so you can hold it. After it has gotten red hot that is when you stick it in your toenail. How could it be contaminated if it is red hot??I have a blood blister under my toenail?
Try a Dremel tool with a small burr. This is the least painful method to relieve the pressure. The high speed of the Dremel tool will melt the nail. Make the insertion point as close as possible to the end of the nail. so it will grow out sooner. After the pressure is relieved put a piece of tape on the nail to prevent dirt from entering.
heat a needle with a lighter don't put the needle in the flame or it wil get a black film on it after it is red hot then puncture and drain the toe.
heat up a needle till its steaming then push it thru your nail to let the blood out. dont touch the needle directly or youll burn yourself
I have had many blood blisters as you call them under my thumbnail and big toe. I have never heard of one nail falling off that quick, unless the nail itself was also loosened. It may take you a little longer, but the way I relieved my pressure and thumping was to use my penknife. I have a rather heavy penknife, so I just sterilize it with alcohol, place the point of the knife directly on and in the center of the blood buildup. Just start turning the knife like a slow drill, and if the point is real sharp, it will get through the nail in no time. When the blood starts oozing out, stop turning. If you want a little more blood flowing, turn the point once or twice in the hole you drilled. When I did that, my nail took at least four months or so to grow long enough that the hole is beyond the tip of your toe, and you just simply use the clippers to cut the nail as usual. Good luck to you sir.blackheads

How to manage the pain after ingrown toenail surgery?
Ok, so I had ingrown toenail surgery on both toes and the only parts that hurt were the injections of the anesthetic. The Podiatrist used a lot (according to mom; I preferred not to watch) of the anesthetic, especially in the right foot. Right after the surgery I took 800mg of Motrin as a hope to prevent the pain as by attacking it before it happened vs after I had pain and it would not really work appropriately. The anesthetic has not worn off so I'm freaked out about the pain to come and was wondering if I just keep on the 800mg of Motrin, if my post-op pain will be minor because I really do not want to take vicoden. How to manage the pain after ingrown toenail surgery?
take the medicine as directed it should control the pain, if you havent felt it hurt yet than your probably not gonna feel too much pain and shouldnt be too concerned.
you are kinda lame though i woulda def asked for vicodin vicodin is fun

Is it really bad if my ingrown toenail is green and puss is in the corner? ?
i soaked my foot in some kind of salt my mother said,i been soaking it for 2 days it takes away the pain and redness but still greenIs it really bad if my ingrown toenail is green and puss is in the corner? ?
get in there and dig it out! it'll hurt like a S.O.B. but thats what you need to do. do it after you soak it in the Epsom salt Is it really bad if my ingrown toenail is green and puss is in the corner? ?
my brother just had that problem, it was an ingrown tonail. my mother soaked his foot in epsom salt too. his foot wasnt getting any better so the doctor sugest cutting a ';V'; shap in his tonail to relieve the pressure, try that first. but my brother was to lazy to do that so he had to go in and have a simple surgery that made him not be able to get an in grown tonail anymore.
This is most likely a sign of infection and immediate medical attention should be sought. The infection could be located under the skin therefore the saltwater has no contact to clean the infected area.
You can develop gangrene you should go to the doctor's ASAP. Here's a link: http://skin-care.health-cares.net/ingrow鈥?/a>
omg. that doesnt sound good. you should go check it out, and have a doctor remove it for you, it seems like it has infected pretty badly .... hope ur ok soon.
This is a situation that needs medical attention, not home remedies. You risk amputation of your toe if you ignore it too long.
Its infected. Your doctor will prescribe you either something orally or topically.
Do see one... infections can get serious.
You should probably get that checked out. With the pus and green toenail, it could mean that you have a serious infection.
It's infected, you probably need antibiotics. Go to the doctor. PLEASE.
That just means it's cleaning itself. Just keep it clean and it should heal pretty soon.
No thats what I call dinner!
uh yeah you should probably get this checked out by a doctor thats really gross
EWWWWWWWWWW! Does that sound normal to you?
uh yea try cream at the stores

How should I deal with an ingrown toenail?
My feet have been hurting for a while. I have had athlete's foot for a while but I am taking prescribed medication for it. Now I also seem to have an ingrown toenail, because I have noticed that there the outside edges of my big toe are very painful if I so much as apply any pressure to them. This really sucks because I love to play soccer. Anyway, I noticed it was getting bad (there is a red bump on the edge of one of my toes) so I busted out the first aid kid and took out a surgical nail clipper and dug under my toes. What I found was really gnarly. The toenail has dug a canal into my toe. It is very painful and swollen. So I grit my teeth and used the clipper to clip out what I could and rip out what I couldn't. Now there is mostly empty space there, but it is still painful. Are there any tips on what steps I should take from here? How should I deal with an ingrown toenail?
soak your foot in warm water and epsom salts, about a tablespoon of the salts to a gallon of water. soak for twenty minutes every day, then bandage the wound, it will heal faster and better if you keep it clean and covered. You might also want to put a little Neosporin on it the first time you bandage it.How should I deal with an ingrown toenail?
If the Epsom salts don't work and the pain persists, I recommend going to a podiatrist. My ingrown toe nails were a problem for a long time and I had to go to the doctor for it. Now they only act up once in a great while.

Are the gents fond of long toenails?
I allow mine to grow slightly longish (after a pedicure sent me to the hospital for ingrown toenail surgery.). After refusing the Asian lady to cut them to death, I've grown quite fond of them being past the edges of my toes. Not too long though! I think they are cute! Now when I do a French pedicure, the white is real! Still painted, but real!) Just wondering? Comments? Are the gents fond of long toenails?
I'd have to say ';NO!!!!';
Very, very loudly.
Get 'em cut.Are the gents fond of long toenails?
I always like it when a woman can click her toenails on the floor, like she might do with her fingernails on a table.
is anyone fond of them
A picture would help us decide, but the way you describe it, it's fine. Sure beats terribly short! Or dirty! Or all rough and jagged edgy!
What are you a werewolf?
You're not supposed to grow your toe nails long as they'll get ingrown. Long toe nails look a bit wierd anyway.
I dont like them when there scratching my back,,,
Nope!
They give me the willies.
Just one guy's opinion though.
Not fond of long toenails, terribly sorry
no its gross and disgusting. i keep telling my gf that. no desire to see it. i like girls with good hygene.
i like em 2 feet long, at least
No idea what a french pedicure is but trust me, if a guy is interested in you he will not be looking at your feet.
All we really want in feet are ones that are reasonably well kept. So unless a guy you meet has a serious foot fetish then its not going too make a whole load of difference.
If you like it and it makes you feel good then you do it.
Being from the male gender i have to answer with a big NO.
Got to say it creeps me out a bit and if your like many women they seem to dislike their feet (and size of their ****..LOL) more than any part of their body... neat %26amp; tidy %26amp; painted... the only way to go...
Lol I keep my toenails long too. If I cut them too short now I get very sore toes. I think as long as they are clean and neat its not a problem.
Personally I think longer nails are fine. Speaking as a man with longer finger nails than my girlfriend. {cos it bugs her}.
At the end of the day if you want to have your nails long go for it. If a bloke wants to change you as soon as he meets you then you should change your bloke.
There ok if you use them to scratch your back.
