How do I sleep after an ingrown toenail operation?

Hi all, I had one side of my right big toenail cut out because it was ingrown 2 days ago. The first two nights, I had pretty much no problem sleeping and have been taking 5 or so panadeine forte's a day as well as anti-infection tablets.

But then today something weird happened. I started walking around doing my normal around the house stuff and it didn't hurt at all. Then after a couple of minutes of sitting down, my toe started throbbing like mad and I had to stand up.

Now it's 2.30am and I can't sit down. I've taken about 4 panadeine forte's in the last couple of hours and I still can't lay down for more than 5 minutes without this intense pain in my toe.

What's going on???How do I sleep after an ingrown toenail operation?
My husband had this done several years ago. He had the same issues, hon.

When you lay down, elevate your foot HIGHER than your heart. And an ice pack on the under side of the toe might feel good.

If it's still giving you problems after a couple of more days, call the doctor or go in to make sure nothing is up.

Hope you recover soon.
