What is the cause of orange toenails?

About a week ago i woke up and took out the trash, when i looked down i could see my two big toenails were an off colored orange, the rest are normal. anyone know what this could be?What is the cause of orange toenails?

I had the same problem one time. I found the shoes I had worn were fading on to the toe nail. This may not be your problem but check it out to make sure that its not the shoes.
