A doctor will cut it out - I'd suggest you see a doctor, to make sure it's done right, and you don't get an infection. What should i do with my ingrown toenail? please help?
You might have to get the ingrown part cut out of your toe, but until you can schedule something with a doctor you should soak it for ten minutes at a time in warm, soapy water 2-4 times a day, and after soaking you could put some antibacterial cream on it, which sometimes helps the pain.
agree with no.1 answer, soak it, push the ski to the side a bit and cut it so its lower from the side where its inters the skin,
if its too bad you will have to see a gp, nothing serious thouh
oh AND YOU SHOULD DEF wear the right size shoes, not too tide or narrow.
good luck :):):)
OH! ingrown toenails are horrid! the doctor will just cut it out. You shouldn't try to do it yourself, you might get it infected, so visit a doctor!
Go to a podiatrist. Do not attempt to take care of it yourself. You will end up with a much bigger problem.

You have to cut it out of there! That's exactly what the doctors will do, but they will charge you $500 to do it...
Cut the toenail at an angle on the side that it is ingrown, and pull the rest out... it will hurt a bit... but if you prop your foot on the side of a sofa until the foot goes to sleep, that will help.
Good Luck!
Here is a good video.

Edit: Yes, pain is normal... the nail is digging into your skin, like a knife. It is just pushing up the piece of skin at the side of your toe. Stop it from pushing and the pain will be gone the next day.
