I use a dark red nail color, and I wait for 20+ minutes (sometimes even 40 minutes) until the nail polish feels completely dry to pressure. But then whenever I try using a top coat, the wetness of the top coat always makes the nail polish on my nails a bit wet again. So I end up with a bit of red on the brush for the top coat, which then gets into the clear top coat bottle as I paint my nails, turning the clear color slightly pink. What am I doing wrong? Top coat bottles say to wait 3 minutes, and I'm waiting much longer than that. I use Sinful Colors nail polish, and for a top coat I use a quick dry top coat or clear nail polish. How long do you wait for toenail polish to dry before applying a top coat so it doesn't get messy?
it usually only takes about an hour when I apply a thin first coat. You have to make sure you have really good polish because the cheaper kinds are usually think and sometimes sticky and they peel easy. You have to search around for the polishes that work right for you.
